Being at home on vacation today, I was able to watch the President's speech (between cleaning the house..No offense but I think women are junkier than men..It certainly does not help living with 4 of them.. )

In any case, IMHO this is the best speech I have seen Bush give. It was cleverly worded, the "imagery" and "symbolism" with 1776 was very good and he stuck to his positions (even though I believe they are misguided and not realistic)

But not only are his speech writers getting better..but he is getting better at the podium as well.

Again, he did not "reassure" me but I will give him an A for an excellent speech.

BTW - I guess we can now take 30,000 as an official number for dead IRAQIS...

But at least the millions still living there now have a chance at a much better life.

And I think the Q&A session was one of the best that he has ever given as well. There is a reason he doesn't do it that often. But he definately hit a homerun with this speech.
