Palin was already nominated for VP. Obama didn't really win by that much. It was not some sort of super majority.

President Bush's USMI was at it's highest in August 2008 at 11.47 with a democrat majority in congress. Lil' barry's was at 12.72 in December with a democrat super majority in congress.

Electoral landslide, the biggest since Reagan if I remember right. He won by a bigger margin than Bush did.
