The national media is pretty silent on this. When Bush's numbers fell, pundits on CNN like Blitzer were all over it. Now that their boy is being rejected by a majority of American's they suddenly don't have anything to say.
lol..
What a joke, just like Obama.
President Barack Obama's overall approval rating has hit a new low. According to the results of the Marist College survey released Monday, independent voters are particularly fed up with the job he has been doing.
Obama's overall approval among all registered voters has hit a new low of 44 percent, which is the lowest of any poll to date that uses people to survey voters. Among independents, his job approval rating has sunk to to just 29 percent, and his disapproval rating is almost double that at 57 percent.
The massive loss of independent voters could be devastating from Democrats if the trend continues through Election Day this fall. Independents have stayed away from the Democratic Party in off-year elections in both New Jersey and Virginia, and most recently they lost Massachussets when Ted Kennedy's old seat when to the Republicans. Rep. John Murtha of Pennsylvania died Monday, and is in danger of being lost by the Democrats as well.
In addition to disapproving of the job Obama is doing in Washington, Independents are also tiring of the President on a personal note. His favorability rating among independents is down to 39 percent, with a 59 percent unfavorable rating. 45 percent of independents also say that Obama is changing the country for the worse, while only 26 percent believe its for the better.
Fifty-three percent of independents, which make up about one-third of the total electorate, now believe Obama has fallen below expectations. Comparatively, this figure was 43 percent.
The independents have jumped ship, which is extremely troubling for the Democratic party. He won independents in 2008, which made him the first Democrat to do so in a presidential election since 1972.
