That's fine, I'm not trying to criticize anybodys religious beliefs here. Divinity of Jesus seems to be what strikes a chord for you, and that's absolutely fine. What I'm saying is that the way one person interprets/feels about the scripture doesn't necessarily make them a non-believer nor does it make thier belief set in any way inferior.

Yes, the prohibition of pork is in the old teastament, Lev. I think. I only brought it up to show you that there are certainly parts of the bible that you don't agree with or perscribe to.

Default My beliefs are very orthodox

My beliefs are very orthodox, and summed up quite well by the Apostle's Creed. Denying the virgin birth is incompatible with orthodox Christian belief, and results in a theological entanglement that is irresolvable, relative to redemption.

Because Christ was born of the Spirit and not of the flesh, original sin had no hold on him. Had he been born of the flesh, he then would have been son of Adam, not the Son of God. Had he been a son of Adam, his death on the cross would be meaningless, and his resurrection from the grave impossible.

Christ is often referred to as the "Second Adam." In Christ, and through faith, we have become sons and daughters of God, rather than sons and daughters of Adam. Christ's death means that we also have died to the sin of Adam, and Christ's resurrection means we too have been made alive in Christ and the resurrection in the age to come.

Many evangelicals discount Christ's full humanity in fear that it somehow dilutes Christ’s full divinity. This is a mistake and it is also not the teaching of Scripture.

Default PS

Pork, shellfish, etc. are a part of the dietary law. Holding to the dietary law does not make one holy. Only Christ makes one holy in God's sight. Second, in the vision of Peter recorded in Acts, God reveals to Peter these sorts of foods are no longer unclean. The early Church, at their council in Jerusalem, addressed dietary rules, circumcision and other wholly Jewish traditions and beliefs. Again, this is also covered in Acts. The early Church, after much debate, determined these traditions were no longer necessary or in keeping with God's plan of salvation.
