Default Education programs cut, rein in spending

http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/02/...get/index.html

The budget includes
Quote:
the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005, which makes $39 billion in cuts to student loan subsidies, Medicare, Medicaid, farm subsidies and other programs
Ok farm subsidies have been going to the ARGO-BAGRA multi-lateral corporations as corporate welfare and not to the middleclass family farmer who was the backbone of the American farm many moons ago. This could be the right thing to do.

Now cuts to student loan subsidies when we need to have a super educated population especially in the sciences does not appear to be in the sirit of " ain't gunna leave no chi uhl behind". More like a "I,m that chi uhl in the behind".

CNN reports
Quote:
The budget's cuts to Medicare and education programs have been criticized by a bipartisan group of legislators
The W was told to say
Quote:
You can't be the pre-eminent economy of the world if your economy doesn't grow," Bush said.
Now I agree that there needs to be growth but I do not see what parts of the duget cuts are "growth stimulating".

I have an open mind so come "splain it !!!!!! "
