I think these Iranian cartoons compare beautifully to the Danish cartoons. Neither are very clever, and both are extremely predictable.

Funny thing is, I'm seeing a lot of posts here denouncing the Iranian cartoons as stupid, pointless, and predictable, but I can't recall many posts denouncing the Danish posts for the same reasons.


I think the double-standard he is trying to point out is that it is not acceptable in Western culture to ridicule Judaism, but it is acceptable to ridicule Islam. Sure, there are no laws preventing individuals from ridiculing Judaism, but doing so will bring about a barrage of criticism and demands of public apology. Ridiculing Islam brings about of support from free-speech advocates who suddenly become quiet when Judaism is involved.

And I was beginning to think I was stupid! (Okay, maybe I am ) Most of the cartoons, I have no clue to what they mean...but I guess it is offending someone.

Don't you just love it? People willing to criticize, condescend, and make fun of an entire ethnic group just to make a few bucks of a political cartoon. Call me crazy, but even I don't degrade myself that much (or do I?).

Anyone willing to decipher these cartoons?

Many of them don't have to do with the Holocaust in anyway they are winners or such of other things.

Anyhow-
This ones pretty good for a political cartoon. I'd have changed Sharon as the target to Israeli's or Jews. But past that its pretty accurate.

You think it is stupid and pointless for the West to ridicule Islam. You also think it is stupid and pointless for Iran to ridicule Judaism. But you must not think it is stupid and pointless to ridicule Christianity because you have done it often. Why is it OK for Mohamed to call Jews decendents of monkeys & pigs (he does .. trust me) and not OK to depict Mohamed as a violent man who has raised a bunch of violent decendents ? Because Islam is the most hypocritical religion on Earth. Do you know that it is OK for a Muslem to lie to a non-Muslem if it's for their betterment. It's completely true. Mohamed did it and if you are Muslem you are allowed to as well. So if someone depicts Mohamed anywhere near a bomb ... which that caravan robber or his decendents would never do, all you have to do as a Muslem is LIE. Lie your head off .. your religion allows it. Depicting Mohamed may be against Islamic law, but it's certainly not against Danish law. So why all the riots? Because the entire world should abide by Muslem wishes. Muslems simply do not respect anything but their right to crap on everybody else. Reality of Islam being a violent religion is not the issue, respecting Islam regardless of the fact that it's a violent religion is the issue. Respect or death. And as for the idiot that thinks that the one cartoon of what Sharon has learned is accurate, he has no idea (or disregards it) of Arab aggression towards Jews in Israel and in Arab lands. Why do you think the Jews of the Arab World fled to Israel .. it was very much for health reasons. The rock that guy is holding while being shot is a freakin rock. Can I throw rocks at you ?! I think you kisunderstand. Here is a Jew with the ashes of his decendents above the fireplace and what is he doing ... burning an ARAB. Notice the headdress. Because Israelis are doing to the Palestinians what Hitler did to the Jews. There are concentrationcamps In Israel. There is a systematic anihilation of Arabs in Israel. Once again ... full of crap. Pleanty of Mosques in Israel ... wonder what would happen if I tried to build a synagogue in Suadi Arabia ?!

Is Islam a violent religion ? Did the haulocaust happen ? You are weighing them evenly. You are going with "the truth is in the middle" routine. Well what if one side tells the truth and the other lies indiscriminently ? It benefits the liar and you aren't willing to call them on it.
