Default Bush: ""We have found the weapons of mass destruction."

Quote:
Lacking biolabs, trailers carried case for war
White House pushed Iraq bioweapons claim despite evidence to contrary
By Joby Warrick
Updated: 1:28 a.m. ET April 12, 2006
On May 29, 2003, 50 days after the fall of Baghdad, President Bush proclaimed a fresh victory for his administration in Iraq: Two small trailers captured by U.S. troops had turned out to be long-sought mobile "biological laboratories." He declared, "We have found the weapons of mass destruction."
The claim, repeated by top administration officials for months afterward, was hailed at the time as a vindication of the decision to go to war. But even as Bush spoke, U.S. intelligence officials possessed powerful evidence that it was not true.

A secret fact-finding mission to Iraq -- not made public until now -- had already concluded that the trailers had nothing to do with biological weapons. Leaders of the Pentagon-sponsored mission transmitted their unanimous findings to Washington in a field report on May 27, 2003, two days before the president's statement.

Report shelved while claim went forth
The three-page field report and a 122-page final report three weeks later were stamped "secret" and shelved. Meanwhile, for nearly a year, administration and intelligence officials continued to publicly assert that the trailers were weapons factories.
The authors of the reports were nine U.S. and British civilian experts -- scientists and engineers with extensive experience in all the technical fields involved in making bioweapons -- who were dispatched to Baghdad by the Defense Intelligence Agency for an analysis of the trailers. Their actions and findings were described to a Washington Post reporter in interviews with six government officials and weapons experts who participated in the mission or had direct knowledge of it.

None would consent to being identified by name because of fear that their jobs would be jeopardized. Their accounts were verified by other current and former government officials knowledgeable about the mission. The contents of the final report, "Final Technical Engineering Exploitation Report on Iraqi Suspected Biological Weapons-Associated Trailers," remains classified. But interviews reveal that the technical team was unequivocal in its conclusion that the trailers were not intended to manufacture biological weapons. Those interviewed took care not to discuss the classified portions of their work.
"There was no connection to anything biological," said one expert who studied the trailers. Another recalled an epithet that came to be associated with the trailers: "the biggest sand toilets in the world."(...)

When Bush the Lame and his toadies look into the camera and lie to the American public it's time to impeach.

Can't believe you guys haven't spun this

heard about Newt at the University of

knows Bush and the rest of the administration has lied repeatedly about Iraq. But just watch, the spin will start pretty soon.

This is public knowledge. This is not new news.

The same thing is happening in Iran. Are they making WMD or only "capable" of making WMD? I guess you clowns think we should wait until they launch one before we take any action. What do you think we shoulc do? Or would you rather just see if you can catch Bush in some kind of lie?

Ahhh.....leave it up to MSNBC to dig up "old news" and try to pass it off as current. They must have a whole staff dedicated to trying to make sure that each day they have something for their "I Hate GWB" headline of the day.

Oh no, Sleepy. These same freaking Bush haters are out there saying, "Why aren't we doing something about Iran and pushing for some kind of military action now." And then as soon as we do, they'll condemn Bush for it.

Here's the thing: they don't give a flying flip what we do. ALL they want is to make sure they score political points and bash the President. THIS IS THEIR MAIN GOAL IN LIFE.

Sad. But true.

What do you mean "catch him in a lie"? What's there to catch exactly? He knew what the report said and he stated the exact opposite anyway. That's not "catching him in a lie". It's simply a lie. Unless you want to claim he somehow didn't know what the report said. But in that case it shows how completely incompetent he is (which is certainly "old news").

Default What exactly are we to wake up too!!

This is public knowledge. This is not new news.
The fact that republicans are unscrupulous liars?? Or the fact that their lies will cost us trillions before this fiasco is over??? All in the name of oil???

Quote:

Not quite? Most of what we are hearing is more on the lines of the truth this time!! We also knew that Iran was a larger threat than Iraq, and that they would eventually be a future target! Why else would we have surrounded them like we have?? Strategically Iraq and Afghanistan, are necessary for the isolation of Iran, and it is to our advantage, they remain in turmoil until we can complete the task at hand, IRAN!! After all the leadership, we hand picked for Iraq and Afghanistan 30 years ago, could have undermined the real mission in the ME, which has always been Iran!!

Quote:
I guess you clowns think we should wait until they launch one before we take any action.
This clown thinks that it shouldn't have been allowed to get this far out of control in the first place!! What do you expect with over 70 years of strong arming the ME leadership, and all the while arming every extremists who can carry a gun??? Playing both ends against the middle, or more to the point, making deals with our enemies enemy and dictating their needs, in accordance to "our" own needs?? This trend will continue, as long as we have access too, or have need for their oil, I doubt very seriously that anything will change drastically for another 70 years to come, with the new leaders we hand pick for them to appoint, uh sorry elect!!!

Quote:
What do you think we shoulc do?
Stop trying to manipulate the world for the domination of the rich and elite??? Fight all tyrannical, totalitarian, oppressive political beliefs, and protect our country from “ALL” enemies, as the oath says, both foreign and domestic? Demand that the countries most effected by a cruise missile from Iran, get off their dead asses and take care of the situation?? We have cleared the path for them to do the job??? Make them be responsible for cleaning their own back yard!!!

Quote:
Or would you rather just see if you can catch Bush in some kind of lie?
No need to "try and catch him", he does so blatantly??? Come on that's too easy, perhaps something a bit more challenging???
