Islam and Islamism are separate religions and should be recognized as such. Just as the "Christian" Identity movement (racist cults) isn't Christian, Osama bin Laden and other Islamists aren't Muslims. Terrorists take an already distorted version of Islam and turn it into an even more twisted political movement, not unlike racist, homophobic "Christian" groups here in the United States. I do understand how you feel. As a Christian, I certainly wouldn't want to be considered part of the same religion as, for example, Fred Phelps. The Ku Klux Klan also claims to be Christian, but it isn't.
