Seems everyone likes Boortz! I am not in the least a fan of Savage. He's just better than Rush, who in turn is better than Hannity.

I agree that he and Rush and Hannity and Liddy dealt with Schiavo using pure emotion. But everyone does that on occasion. Except Boortz.

I just don't see a point in listening to pundits. Apparently a lot of people do.
If I'm going to listen to one pundit, I at least want there to be another pundit there to fire back and the moderator being someone who isn't supposed to get involved beyond asking questions (maybe with some unstoppable bias, but kept to a minimum and with limitations). Otherwise it's just crap. A loudmouth with total control of a program arguing against amateurs who he/she can easily punt off if there's too much of a challenge. Good for laughs occasionally, but void of intellectual stimulus. Most of it just gets people emotionally riled up. I guess that's what people look for in those shows.
Maybe I should start charging people for my rants.

Default wow

Im very impressed with this thread so far.

I too believe Savage is very emotional--far too much at times. For me, however, he is so over the top it is a riot to listen too. The fact that he seems so serious about his insanity is why I tune in whenever I'm on the way to the gym. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to him, but then again, I wouldn't tune into Rush if there was nothing else on the radio and if I had a very long trip to go. I think talk shows are as javablack was saying, they pick weak people to serve their viewpoint, because, quite frankly, their theories are just shallow assertions at best. But with Savage--you get shallow assertions that are so utterly ridiculous you have to wonder if he is truly serious. My favorite once was when he was talking about how "red china" and the east is so evil and "unenlightened", he even included Japan in this for some reason. And then he based this assertion solely on the fact that "eastern" artists don't know how to draw hands and feet correctly, as opposed to renaisance artists. Quite funny. The guy has obviously never seen the animations they put out over there. hahaha. Japan kills us in art from this perspective. Most people here can barely write in cursive, let alone in kanjii.

Default forgot to add this in...

And after this, he started talking about getting ethnic food in New York and how they give you a bunch of greese when you're a white guy because you don't know any better. Then he goes off on a tangeant about chicken that they make in asian restaurants or something like that...the episode is a classic...anyone else heard that one???? It was on the internet awhile back, pretty famous one.
