This happened a while ago, not that Hastert or Jeb Bush would get a break if they did it years ago. But because he's a Dem it will be glossed over.

If the media did a story on every congressman who got really drunk in the late eighties or early nighties you would have a story every day.

He was in his early 20s in the late 90's. I wouldn't trust anyone who hasen't gotten really drunk and done body shots sometime during their life. I've done it...

I agree with that part, I don't care about him getting drunk or the body shots. Everyone has done that or similar, so have I. I'm talking about the blackface, that has not happened and when it does happen there is usually a lot of negative attention in the media about it. Anyone remember what happened when Ted Danson did it? Now imagine a Republican congressman doing this.

Also, the sidenote about him being spotted drinking prior to his accident is interesting.

Must be nice to have a long-standing 20 year "excuse" for everything you do in life. This is why I think he has no intention of "getting cured." Then he won't have that built-in excuse and would then be expected to conduct his life like a regular person does.

He's a spoiled brat trust-fund baby that never held a real job in his life. Just like his Daddy. No wonder Joan Kennedy took to the bottle.
