I am kinda surprised this isnt bigger news. A man has invented a device that can turn water into actual energy. In this video he demonstrates a blowtorch powered by water and electricity.

He has already created a working prototype car that can run entirely on water.

The technology is 100% pollution free.

The "fuel" is actually HHO, not H²O. It is generated through electiricty and water. The byproduct (waste) is also water. This is demonstrated in the video.

This technology could be the key in finally freeing us from dependency on foreign oil for fuel. Yes, I believe it does require electricity. But we can generate the electrical component in other ways that dont require fossil fuels (solar, wind, nuclear, ect). What makes this technology so remarkable is how simple it is...the components would not require storage tanks for volitile/compressed fuel, and the emissions are environmentally friendly.

He is already in negotiation with the government...they have already planned a Hummer design around it which will allow it to run as a hybrid (all gas or all water fuel).

In looking for links to the video I came across many forum discussions...the general consensus seems to be that this is real and not a hoax. Some people are also claiming that the technology is not new (as the Dune Buggy link above claims...the guy supposedly had working prototypes running in 199

. The forum I just linked actually has a lot of good info in it as well.

Part of me still thinks this is too good to be true...that there must be some kind of catch.

But everything I have read about it so far seems to indicate that it works as advertised. The technology is not bulky and cumbersome in the way that batteries of armored storage tanks would require. That is probably the biggest deal IMO....it is the main thing that has kept Hydrogen and Electric powered cars from going mainstream.

The fact that it has Zero (0) emissions besides water is a pretty big deal as well. We can all start driving our horribly inefficient monster SUVs again. Yay!

It remains to be seen whether it will be forthcoming. To all those who scoff and say "impossible", I say, it's a good thing we don't have to count on you for innovations in technology! The Welder/Torch is a working commercial product, what it does can not be done with pure hydrogen or Brown gas.

It's too good to be true because it was a hoax. Can't be done (First Law of Thermodynamics).

He's claiming it can be, and a lot of people are agreeing with him. Wiki is not the final authority on what can and cannot be done.

The HHO gas being used is new, and has unique properties. It is not generating energy from nothing...all it is doing is basically allowing you to store electriciy (energy) as water. The exact same thing occurs with fossil fuels.

This is not a perpetual motion device. There IS wasted energy in the process. Electricity is required to make it work. The electricity would have to be generated from an outside source...but we have clean and renewable sources of electricity already (solar, wind, nuclear, whatever). You would have to put more electricity into the process than you would produce from it.

The reason it is still better is because:

1) We have a lot more water than we do fossil Fuels...an infinite supply for all intents and purposes.

2) The process produces waste that does not damage our environment.

As noted above, he has been very forthcoming about submitting his work for peer review (including samples of the HHO gas).

Too bad I'm not on the Oil Payroll. I'd know just what to do with this guy.

First I would leak out that he is an Anti-Semetic racist. He's a wacho and never even graduated from High school. If he did we'd have to destroy all the records. Then we'd buy up his rights to the new invention and put it under lock and key, like the Kennedy assasination and 9/11 records. He wouldn't stand a chance.

Anyway since I'm not, I'll make sure I don't stand too close to him.

It would be wise, if we use this technique, to start working on water desalinization. Fresh water is capable of becoming scarce.
