I dunno, maybe it's just me. But do you see anything OK about publishing these death pictures of people being felled by the Iraq War? How is this any different than when the Iraqis published pictures of one of our fallen troops being dragged thru the streets of Bahgdad? We have become a nation of heathens in more ways than one.

12thMan I reposted the link to the pictures and the media is FOX. Anything else you'd like to know?

Thank you. I thought you might be talking about Zarqawi. Then again, you might have been talking about the pictures of other people killed in Iraq.

Do you truly equate this pic of Zarqawi with pictures of our troop's bodies being desecrated?

Equate???? Now we are supposed to equate what is CIVIL and what is not? Look, we are the invader there. Do you think our guys are going to video the desecrations our troops have rendered on the Iraqi people? Don't play Pollyanna and say there have been none. I think it is completely gross that a media would post a dead man's bloodied and beaten death mask, I don't care which side he is on.

I can't think of a single other instance in which I was glad to see a picture of a dead guy. Zarqawi was just special that way I guess.

How about the pics of Saddam's sons which were released by the US? Here's a link if you'd like to reminisce.

The US parades these pictures of dead Iraqis but if I recall correctly, photographers are not even allowed to shoot photos of the caskets returning from Iraq with our dead troops. I don't care which side we're talking about, we have moved to new low of disgusting disrespect for the dead.

There is a reason the U.S. military and Iraqi leaders released these photos. It's so that the average Iraqi citizen will believe they are dead. And it's important they know and believe these guys are dead. In both situations you mentioned, though, the pictures they released were tasteful and the bodies were treated respectfully.........in that blood was cleaned up and horrible wounds were not shown. That's far different from the U.S. military bodies.....burned and mangled.....that were shown hanging from a bridge. There was certainly no respect for those dead bodies.

I disagree with that theory. If they tell me someone is dead I prefer to just believe them unless and until I have a reason not to. I don't want to see their tortured dead faces. I don't know for sure the Iraqis were pleased with these photos being broadcast around the world, anymore than I was pleased when they broadcast the torture of my dead countrymen. But even if they didn't show torture, I would not want Al Queda to broadcast photos of the 2500 dead Americans they have killed. There's just no decency and morality left. Once, this is what America was the leader of: decency. I guess we decided if you can't beat 'em join 'em.
