The Rosenburgs were civilians and in no position to do what they did but the press is in such a position. They are protected by the First Amendment which states they have the freedom to write whatever they want.

One of the most pressing duties of the press is to watch the government and report their actions to the people. A free press is necessary to a free society, and I wish the press would understand and start doing their job more often.

As far as what Patrick Henry stood for; it was independence, justice, equality, and questioning the status-quo. The Rosenburgs are traitors because they themselves penetrated the government and gave the information they had to an opposing world super-power. The Times is only writing what someone gave them, we call these "sources" and every media is guilty of using them. Of course in youre eyes this is all treasonous but what about Watergate, government secrets were exposed then and people knew the truth. Truth is supposed to be the objective of every journalist and every media but thanks to Reagan the media is no longer required to be diverse and numbers are now what alot of newsis based on. If anything the Times should be awarded for willing to be independent.
