Default halliburton contract with army

I just got done reading about KBR losing their exclusive contract with the Army in Iraq and that their contract was going to be up for bidding. Besides Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Halliburton (KBR), and say ... a Fluor, who's even big enough to be a viable option for this bid?

It's interesting that the contract is supposed to go to 3 companies when it seems there's only a few in the running anyway.

Default Is this for infrastructure?

I assume so, if that is the case good luck. There are very few. Raytheon, General Dynamics, Honeywell, etc a large, but they make systems, not infrastructure. Bechtel might be able to do it. Although I wouldn't use them.

Default Yep

Never was a big fan of Les Marino (the owner of the contractor to which you refer) so I can't say I'm shocked. Unfortunately there were screw ups all around. Bechtel didn't do the oversight promised and instead convinced government supervisors to cut corners. They also fought tooth and nail to remove any penalties for responsibility on their end, beginning with Dukakis who capped their liability at a pittance. So unless there is fraud on their part they won't pay a price. Then you have other government officials who more concerned with covering their backside than actually making sure the tunnel was safe. Amorello, gag, held a press conference saying the tunnels were all safe and had been inspected. In fact, they had not been inspected and Romney ordered them closed after finding several loose bolts on other ceilings. Someone else could have died because of government incompetence. A major mess of epic proportions.
