Default Big Trouble Ahead for Republicans

Quote:
Two New Polls Highlight Growing Dem Margins
August 11, 2006
By: Phil Singer, DSCC

Even FOX News Shows Dems With Commanding Lead
With less than three months until Election Day, two new polls from FOX News and the Associated Press-Ipsos show Democrats with an 18-point lead on the congressional ballot. Fred Barnes of the conservative Weekly Standard said the poll suggests “Republican’s aren’t running real well,” while pollster John Gorman said, “Increasingly this election looks like it will be decided by the ugly mood of the electorate.”

DEMS LEAD ON CONGRESSIONAL BALLOT BY 18 POINTS IN BOTH POLLS. The FOX News polls shows Democrats leading on the congressional ballot by 18 points, 48%-30. This represents a ten-point jump since July. The AP-Ipsos poll also shows an 18-point lead, 55%-37%.

ANTI-BUSH SENTIMENT IS DRIVING MIDTERM VOTE. In the AP-Ipsos poll, “the number of voters who say their congressional vote this fall will be in part to express opposition to the president jumped from 20 percent last month to 29 percent, driven by double-digit increases among males, minorities, moderate and conservative Democrats and Northeasterners.”

50% NOW DISAPPROVE GOP. According to the FOX News poll, 51% of Americans now hold an unfavorable view of the Republican Party, while only 38% have a favorable view of the GOP. Meanwhile, Democrats favorable ratings outweigh their unfavorable ratings by ten points.

INDEPENDENT VOTERS SUPPORT DEMOCRATS. President Bush has a dismal 27% approval rating among Independents in the FOX News poll, and Independents are now giving Democrats a 24-point lead on the congressional ballot.

ALL VOTERS SUPPORT STEM CELL RESEARCH. In the aftermath of President Bush’s stem cell veto, the FOX News poll shows that 63% of Americans approve of embryonic stem cell research. Even Republicans approve the research by a ten-point margin.
No wonder Republicans are acting like thugs again. They've got nothing else left to do. And it's simply not working.

Yeah, this is the part that cracks me up about the wing-nuts... they refuse to perceive this stuff, they're deep in denial. This'll never get fixed until people start talking about it.

OK, let's talk about it...

Let's talk about these "Polls" that you always claim are going so well for Democrats, only to find that with the "Polls" that COUNT, you could not have been more wrong?

And when Voting, doesn't go your way, you say LOOK AT THE Exit Polls, they say something different, and then you cry conspiracy?!?!?!?

So please, lets talk about who isn't "getting it", and who is, shall we?

Regards,
Gaar

Sounds to me more like the traditional spike they get, right around primary-election time, when the 20% or so of the total registered voters finally get riled up enough to actually go vote. Of those only half are likely to waste votes on Democrats. They're the ones with an unsupportable platform of infanticide, appeasement transcending mere cowardice, and treason.

You'll see a slow September cooling period and then in October we'll get the usual scandals aimed at toppling weak pols from office. In Michigan this means we herd the swinish Dumpy Debbie Stabenow back to her sty in private life, and bring in a tested former cop and former prosecutor to finally get some sense in representing my state in Washington. I'll discuss Carl "The Comb-over Kid" in a separate screed, but yes, I'm ever so happy knowing my district tossed out a RINO bastard and restored God to the halls of Congress.

Things are going swell for conservative Americans. Here in Michigan with our Made-in-Canada alleged governor, it's manifestly clear we can only go up after a Democrat led our state, an imported one at that.

I hope in your area the liberal menace can be scoured away, too. Dream to be great, not a Democrat.

After Ned Lamont, I'm not worried at all.
Everyone I speak with is afraid the Left will
make things MORE dangerous.

If it weren't for the Loony Left, we could focus on our great economy, minimal unemployment, and positive things that are overshadowed by the doom-n-gloom of the Demorats.

Isn't it odd how no Democrat in the public eye has anything but whining complaints, not positive and cost-effective solutions? Hire some more bureaucrats and throw money at something you can't solve with Kumbaya and wet dreams, that's the Dems' classic holding-pattern. Bah. Ignore the malcontents, the marginalized self-trivialized ingrates who form the fungal coating for the underbelly on American politics.

I haven't seen any "positive and cost-effective solutions" from the Republicans either - at least not since George W Bush took office...

(go ahead, name one, I dare you)...

Odd for such a right-wing biased news organization to conduct a poll in which 42% of the respondents are Democrats and only 34% of them are Republicans. The numbers I usually see are 33 and 32 or so.

I never claimed delight with Administration spending patterns.

The least he should do is cut the size of government exactly in half, before he's out. Get rid of EPA, OSHA, both DOE (energy and education, both are worthless) and of course infuse Chamber of Commerce mentality into the very lifeblood at Small Business Administration. Cut the federal payroll in half, 8 a.m., Day One. Choke the communists out of State, shutter the welfare bureaucrats forthwith, and get Uncle Sam out of feeding and caring for the terminally lazy squirting out welfare babies.

Has Mr. Bush done enough of any of that? No. But he should.

America gets back to work when liberal ideas can't work at all, like their hideously wasteful War on Poverty.

A few on this thread spouted off similarly in 2004 about poll results. Only to disappear for a few months when the real results turned out differently than their mouths bragged about. History repeating itself?
