I wrote over at Michelle Malkin's, where she's been kind enough to let me guest-blog, about the next front in the war on pork:

Wouldn't it be cool if someone took the time to enter each earmark into an electronic database, which would then be made available to the taxpaying and blogging public to comb through if they were so inclined? You know, given that it's their money being spent and all.

And, wouldn't it be double-cool if the taxpaying and blogging public were so inclined, and began identifying which pork project belongs to whom and ever-so-politely inquiring of their duly elected representatives just what the heck they were thinking funding the Charles B. Rangel Center for Public Service?

The only problem is we would have to wait until the next elections to correct the wrongs made, by sending these bought and paid for traitors there as our representatives in the first place!?!

And with the "method" suggested, they will KNOW they are being looked into, and they will either adjust, or be voted out.

You have a better Plan?

Or do you just like complaining about it and don't really care if anything is EVER done about it?

Citizens Against Government Waste does a pretty good job at doing that. It's not exactly like she is talking about in her blog, but it's reasonably close.

SO? I'm not saying your suggestion is without merit or not possible, but simply identifying the problem, does little to remedy the situation! Besides when they can no longer hold office they just shift their title from senator to lobbyist, and they set forth in corrupting the new guy with whichever method seems to be more effective, bribery, blackmail, and/or even political suicide!!!

YES!!! Eliminate the problem!!! Quit electing democrats and republicans to public office!! Neither side has shown the integrity or maturity to handle the job, without putting their own selfish needs first!!!

I don't know if you realize this, but the parties themselves dictate the fine line "our" representatives are allowed to walk!! Doesn't seem very democratic does it???

After all we are mere mortals who do not have the superior intellect required for making decisions that must be made for #1 the parties power/money, and #2 the parties money/power!!

YES!!!

I care, I just don't see people identifying wrong, when it is obviously wrong, and sticking by their convictions, when their guy, has the opportunity to do the same thing!!!
