you can still choose to - or not to - have an abortion anyone can pray in school or are you saying the GOP should have as its platform that they want to oppress those who think other than they: ONLY men and women can get married abortions will be outlawed others will be coerced to pray with you in school which is the platform you are advocating for the GOP?

Any Republican who runs on those 3 issues in the next 60 days is going to get CRUSHED!!
Why don't you call youe local Congressman or Woman and ask them why your top 3 is not high on their campaign platform?

I find members of any party to be truly godless only when they use religious rhetoric to try to advance their political careers. That is called hypocrisy. Republicans got a head start on it, but Democrats are trying to imitate the Elmer Gantry act. As someone who hates... er... likes both parties equally, your ideas should sway me towards the GOP if you are correct.

Realistically, the Republican Party would have a chance to get my votes if: 1. It stopped deficit spending- period. 2. It returned to a paleoconservative isolationist foreign policy rather than a hawkish neoconservative one- or at the very least returned to Eisenhower's realism. 3. It stopped publicity stunts about religion, homosexuals and so forth. Get back to me when the GOP does those things (I won't hold my breath). I'll most likely be voting for a Libertarian in 2008. The government, as usual, is doing more harm than good, and at least Libertarians would get the government out of the way.

1. Is definately a winner. Easily gaining majority favor.
2. This issue is mosly dead . Most people are in favor of allowing abortion up to a point. Thse who would actually vote based soley on it are almost extinct. 3. This would have some effect..alot of people are tired of the secularisation of all aspects of their life. Really it depends on region..barring #1 wich is almost universal in favor of keeping..the other two are district by disctrict cases. Anyway... Heres a site that good to watch for this election. http://www.cqpolitics.com/ On the right side is a district by district map and expected scorecard. Its pretty clear theres alot of hype going on in much of themedia but not alot of substance to that hype. IMO the best things Republicans can do overall as a party this election is make the Democrats talk. Democrats have nothing... no real solutions at all. More they talk the better. IE yesterday they came out and said that if you elect Democrats they wil lower Gas prices. How..well they never said... IOW they are throwing out simplistic rhetoric and simplistic slutions to real problems. |
