Default Senate report: No Saddam, al-Qaida link

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14728447/

Long-awaited analysis also finds that anti-Saddam group misled U.S.

Quote:
WASHINGTON - There’s no evidence Saddam Hussein had ties with al-Qaida, according to a Senate report issued Friday on prewar intelligence that Democrats say undercuts President Bush’s justification for invading Iraq.

Bush administration officials have insisted on a link between the Iraqi regime and terror leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. Intelligence agencies, however, concluded there was none.
Quote:
It concludes that postwar findings do not support a 2002 intelligence community report that Iraq was reconstituting its nuclear program, possessed biological weapons or ever developed mobile facilities for producing biological warfare agents.
Quote:
It discloses for the first time an October 2005 CIA assessment that prior to the war Saddam’s government “did not have a relationship, harbor, or turn a blind eye toward Zarqawi and his associates.”

Bush and other administration officials have said that the presence of Zarqawi in Iraq before the war was evidence of a connection between Saddam’s government and al-Qaida. Zarqawi was killed by a U.S. airstrike in June this year.

Default This is just the first part of the report

The next part deals with how the Bush Administration misled the nation by picking and choosing which intelligent reports to put before Congress and the American people and which intelligence reports it chose to hide under the carpet. Also it will fully detail how this was a deliberate attempt to mislead (i.e. lie), not just a misperception of opinion. When this report is done, Bush will never be believed again and the argument that most of Congress supported the war in Iraq will be seen for what it really was -- a lied to and misled Congress acting on only half the facts (most of them fraudulent or untrue).

Iraq is Bush's war and he is solely responsible for the US being involved in it, for all the deaths of American soldiers based on lies and deceptions. I hope George W. Bush someday is punished for his evil sins -- either here on Earth or a very warm spot in Hell right next to Saddam, Dick, Al Zarquwee Rumsfeld, Osama and Rove.

The administration misled the country. IMO, they should be held accountable.

The administration, or majority of the House of Representatives, and Kerry and Clinton?

The administration we're the ones that instigated the war, the rest we're just "yes men".

They were all "yes" men AND women....because they were ALL looking at the same intelligence and coming to the same conclusion: that Saddam Hussein was a threat.

Senator Rockefeller actually stood on the Senate floor and said Saddam was an "imminent" threat. A word that Bush never even used. So, please.....let's stop with the blame game.

Default JP = Blame it on everyone else but....

Don't blame Bush.

It's Clinton's fault, it's the senate's fault, it's Rockefeller's fault, it's Kerry's fault but it's NEVER GW's FAULT!

When is he ever going to take responsibility for his actions??? "The buck stops here" doesn't apply to this president.

Its simple. You can't blame Bush if all of those other people agreed with him.
It is the exact same thing as being angry at one of twenty students for making a mistake and allow the others to go scot-free. Do you understand what I am trying to say?
