"And there is no reason, Bob, that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children" - John Kerry

John Kerry voted to approve the use of force in Iraq. During his campaign he said if given the chance to vote on the war again he would do so again.

Default Is Foley the face of Republicans ?

If Kerry is the face of the Demons as the Fife-o matic and othe Kool Aid drinkers triy to paint him then by that little bit of logic Foley must be the face, the mouth, and the moral pillar of the Repubtile party.

If the Republicans were standing behind Foley, that would be a good point. As it is though....

Default Its simply amazing

to see the reactions on this thread ...(then again maybe not) It looks like Kerry/Bush 2004 all over again (this time with a twist)

Everyone is giving their opinion on what Sen Kerry meant so I guess here's mine:

I think he was "insulting" the President. I think he attempted to imply that if you don't study hard etc....you end up making "decisions" like leaving us stuck in Iraq. (Of course in his own "non comedic way", he botched the joke. He should really stop attempting jokes (he tried it on Bill Maher a couple of weeks ago)

And why is anyone surprised that talk radio and the MEDIA jumped on this? Its an election season and anything goes. It will probably last another news cycle before its knocked off the page by another story (ie..the extension of the Page Scandal or maybe another politician putting their mouth squarely on their feet )

When the President implies on his stump speeches that a vote for the Dems is a win for the terrorists, is that more or less outrageous that a poor attempt at a joke by Sen Kerry?

To the Dems on this forum: Do you want the terrorists to win?

In my opinion, there are more important stories in the news which will not get any billing: The over 525,000 guns and ammo missing in Iraq..the festering differences b/w AL Maliki and the US Govt, the daily death count and so on and so forth...

But its these issues that seem to gain traction. On Nov 8, it will quickly settle down and I am sure we will see some changes and shifts in both parties (regardless of the outcome)..

No, this baby has legs, and Lurch is only making those legs longer by refusing to admit his mistake and apologizing for it. Each and every major news outlet is leading with this story.
Oh this has legs big time.
Is telling also how so few people are accepting his and the spinsters excuses.

The elitist snobby manner he excused himself and the spin to defend him is not working at all.

Default you will not hear/see this on the big bad "liberal media".

guess who said
Quote:
A non-story? CBS News evidently doesn't think so. It was their lead story in tonight's newscast. They even ran the Lurch video of his insulting the troops, and a brilliant and very effective sound bite from John McCain, slamming Lurch for his comment. The conclusion from a CBS reporter was also good--he said Lurch's comment will certainly energize the Republican base in next week's election.
Interesting that earlier on you said that you will not hear/see this on the big bad "liberal media".. I first heard it on NPR. they may not be big but they are bad, they are media and they are liberal!!1
