I don't think he intentionally thought "hey, I'll insult some troops." But I do think he meant that college is important and was otherwise commenting on the false stereotype that the armed forces are filled with the poor and uneducated. I've heard many dems make that statement.

I didn't bother learning names of any Swift Boaters. Didn't even go to many of their sites, though I was aware generally of what they were saying. Conservative bloggers followed things pretty well. I had different sources for much the same information, anyway.

Kerry got Navy Secretary John Warner to rig a upgraded discharge from whatever Kerry had, before. The details of this upgrade were not released, and the pages from the Navy enquiry into Kerry meeting with those Viet Cong officials has also not been released.

You have got to stop assuming Kerry isn't lying about his past. All evidence points to the contrary.
