Imagine insulting troops, risking their very lives, at a time of war. Freaking unbelievable!
Don't look for any coverage of this event by any of the main stream press. They will ignore the story. But you will hear about this on talk radio, and probably FOX.

Table 2 is a summary of ZCTA data ranked in order of population quintiles. In 1999 and 2003, the recruits generally mirror the percent distribution among the population, but the pattern shows clearly that there were fewer recruits from the poorest quin(*)tile of neighborhoods[4] (18.0 percent) and fewer from the richest quintile (18.6 percent) in 1999. In 2003, however, only 14.6 percent of military recruits came from the poorest quintile, whereas the wealth(*)iest quintile provided 22.0 percent. Enlistments from wealthier areas surged, resulting in a 3.4 per(*)centage point upturn. The middle-class quintiles (the third and fourth wealthiest areas) consistently provided disproportionately high numbers of sol(*)diers in both year groups. (See Chart 1.) 1999 2003 Poorest quintile 18% 15% Quintile 2 21% 20% Quintile 3 21% 21% Quintile 4 21% 23% Richest quintile 19% 22% The plain fact is that the income distribution of recruits is nearly identical to the income distribu(*)tion of the general population ages 18–24.

Here's a blog piece I did on it back when the study came out, along with links to the study and the arguments of both sides: http://midtopia.blogspot.com/2006/03...nd-future.html Here's how it broke down: 1. Households with income under $20,000 are underrepresented; 2. Housholds with income of $20,000 to $25,000 are proportionally represented; 3. Households with incomes of $25,000 to $55,000 are overrepresented; 4. Households with incomes over $55,000 are underepresented. Hence the wording of my previous post.
