So the presidential candidates are making it official now. McCain and Tommy Thompson are now making it official:
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,229740,00.html I don't care for either of these. Guiliani is already in. Others expected to get their exploratory committees together soon are Governor Mitt Romney, Sen. Bill Frist of Tennessee, Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and New York Gov. George Pataki. If I had to pick right now I'd go with Romney, but I really don't know enough yet. |

Dems currently have solid control of the House.
In the Senate, 21 Republican seats are up for grabs. 6 House Republican reps may retire. In contrast, 12 Democratic seats are up for grabs, with only 3 possibly retirees. With the racist Lott and corrupt McConnell leading the way, Dems stand to cease strong control of the Senate. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_...lections,_2008 In the presidential race, Dems look to put forward Clinton, Obama, or Edwards. Pubs look to be settling on more moderate candidates like McCain and Giuliani - a sharp move to the center for a Republican party in shambles. This gives them the slight edge over the Democratic front runners, but both are too hawkish on Iraq. Giuliani is a "stay the course" candidate while McCain supports sending even more troops. America's patience for these neocons is running out. We could see Dems control all branches of government as a result. |

Before I realized there was this thing called the, "Primary Process," I voted for the Libertarian running against McCain.
Vote for a Democrat? NEVER! Sorry I tried my hardest to get McCain out of office. I think I will soon register for the Constitution Party, especially if McCain wins primary. |

If McCain, Romney, or Giulliani wins the Pub primary, I might actually wind up voting Pub. As of yet, no good Crats mentioned other than possibly Obamma. And I like Feingold to some extent.
What happened to Wesley Clark? I'm hoping this will be the first election where the choice is hard because I LIKE both major candidates. For that to happen, the Crats better find somebody good.

He'd be #1 on my list by a long shot. I think he'd be terrific. Giuliani is a second choice.

Repubs:
McCain is OK with me. He is far and away my favorite from Fantasia. I think Rudy G. could surprise people. He can run heavily on his 9/11 performance, but once people dig deeper, they are going to find a lot of questionable things about him that illuminate how he might lead. From a distance he looks pretty good, under the presidential microscope not so good. Dems: Hillary: undecided. I'd like to see her platform, hear what she has to say rather than her reaction. Kerry: God please no. Don't you have something better to do? Edwards: A terrible VP choice in 2004, an even terribler choice in 2008. There must be a pillow he can fluff somewhere. Obama: Same as Hillary. Suspending judgement.

Russ Feingold announced his decision not to run for president in 2008 via an e-mail to his supporters this weekend.
From his comments on the Daily Show, John Edwards will have another go, and Obama's recent activities makes him appear to be an interested candidate.

From what I've heard of him, he seems decent enough. I'd like to know more. Where are Feingold and Clarke? As for the Pubs, my fear is that there are too many good moderates running... That could mean a lot of votes getting divided among them and the primary winner being an arch-conservative who gets the whole base vote... If that happens then we likely wind up with choice of two evils, business as usual.
