Rangel must surely know that no one takes him seriously. I'm sure he thinks this is scoring some kind of political points, but Democrats calling for the draft can't make them look good. Do you know if he has any Democrats at all that are on board with him?

Hopefully he'll run for president again. He always entertains. He, Gore and Kerry would make a nice combination.

Part of me almost wishes they would succeed. It would serve those (*)(*)(*)(*) liberals right to get bit in the ass by one of their own.

But thankfully, the Republicans still have sufficient power to prevent a draft.

yea, rangel is a grandstanding fool, but there is one thing he has done which deserves applause:

Most of you agree with this war, but you disagree with a draft. Its almost like saying I love building houses, but I hate hammers and nails.

Charlie Rangel is so stupid. He's trying to use the same reasoning that was used to STOP the draft in the early 70's to now get it re-instated. It was said back then that a DRAFT "disproportionately affects the poor." Now, Rangel is saying, the all volunteer army is somehow "disproportionately affecting the poor."

Not to mention...those 5 to 7 hammers are volunteering to be used, proud to be used, and feel that creating homes for the homeless is a just cause.
