Default Illegal Immigration

Don’t Give the Social Security $$$ of My Parents to Illegal Immigrants

I read some rather sobering reports over the weekend about the pending budget problems in both Washington and many statehouses across the nation. Government spending has risen at such a rate and budget deficits have gotten so big that we’re all soon to see increased taxes AND cuts in government spending in order to get our financial house even reasonably in order.

This is sure to develop into a real battle between political parties, ideologies and special interests over the next couple of years. Get ready.

I’m sure a lot of this will get pretty complicated. But I also think two issues deserve particular attention.

First, I think we have a clear moral obligation to commit to the well being of our parents and grandparents. In my mind these are the people that helped build this terrific country. To cut their social security or healthcare would be flat-out wrong.

Which leads to my second point. There are anywhere from 15 to 18 million illegal immigrants living in the US. Some of these are good people, some aren’t. Some of them are receiving illegal government assistance (social security, medicare, aid to families, etc.), others aren’t. Some of them want to assimilate, others want to simply take us for whatever they can get & send it back home. But, on balance, my intuition tells me that they are costing us tens and tens of billions of dollars.

As we start cutting government spending I believe we have a responsibility to take care of our native born American and LEGAL immigrants. WE ABSOLUTELY CANNOT CUT SUPPORT FROM OUR PARENTS AND CHILDREN because the government is going broke paying for the costs of illegal immigrants.

Not my parents. Not your parents.

Default Well Said

Well said. They might as well be stealing right out of our pockets with no consequence. I am tired of all these ILLEGALS coming in to OUR COUNTRY and taking our money for there own benefit. What is worse is that Democrats stick up for them and try to help them come in to OUR COUNTRY. This situation must be solved ASAP. Thank you for noticing this problem in our country and god bless the Minute Men.

The Democrats have successfully equated all Republicans with Bush's personal stance on immigration. The Democrats have won this lie, this propaganda. How do you fight Satan?

Default your intuition is correct

illegals are costing us billions...which is why we need to change the immigration policy and enforce existing law. Meaning illegals are returned to their countries and companies are penalized for hiring them. They tax our medical, school and justice systems. Social security is next.

there is no "mostly unique;" thats like saying "sometimes always," its an oxymoron - its either one or the other.

The result:
Quote:
By the mid-19th century unique had developed a wider meaning, “not typical, unusual,” and it is in this wider sense that it is compared. The comparison of so-called absolutes in senses that are not absolute is standard in all varieties of speech and writing.
