This conference, and Duke's quotes from it, are Exhibit A why making Holocaust denial a crime was a bad move for various European countries. Because idiots like Duke can come off sounding reasonable and civic-minded as they (rightly) condemn the suppression of free speech on the topic. It gives weight to their paranoid fantasies.

The conferecne is/was an attempt by the Iranian leadership to discredit the reasoning behind the foundaton of Israel in the ME and thus justifying their calls for it s destructon.

It may not work with you me or most people but it will work with the people they care about.,.which is not the weak willed westerners whose opinions they now openly mock.

They are setting the stage for themselves to act on their words.

The very idea of making an opinion illegal is offensive to me. It is just retarded.

As I stated in another thread, free speech ought not be banned anywhere in regards to the Holocaust. Banning free speech on the subject only makes the official story look suspicious. The truth is all that matters, but putting a ban on denying the holocaust could be a hindrance in finding the truth if someone uncovered real solid evidence to disprove the official story. I doubt anyone could be able to prove that the holocaust never occured (it's simply too well-known, and would have too many people involved to keep the lie going this long-- someone would have leaked the evidence), but perhaps there is some evidence out there that could prove that parts of the official story were exaggerated. It wouldn't surprise me one bit to find out that some of it was, and if it were true, I'd want to know about it.

I have an idea lets just gloss over the fact that a nation state held a conference to help cover its calls for the extermiation of Israel....and instead focus on the bannign of holocaust denial in Europe.
