Kudos to people of Scotland in general (real Warriors - with capital 'S') and to Robert Burns in particular !

I was reading some poems of R. Burns (in translation of S.Marshak) during studying in a local highschool. AFAIK, January, 25 is a national holyday of Scotland, a birthday of a great Poet, right?

oui mon ami Jan 25 est Burn's la nuit - pas une Fête nationale

But we drink Whiskey and eat Haggis in the evening and say Burn's poems to each other as we gather together in big parties - and A man playing the bagpipes "pipes" in the haggis to the dinner table!!

It is a great time, especially as its arrives in the long dark nights of January and after the Christmas and New Year is over before the Spring arrives - a good excuse for a party

OK with the 'Whiskey' ( Scotch ((whiskey)) as us 'Mericans' would say) and Burns is fine, but I have to draw the line at the Haggis and wearing the skirt!
