I hope its as successful as New Coke. A major backlash would be a nice development. Is it now a fact that Americans in general are children for life? ..are we incapable of making our own decisions? ..is someone forcing you to smoke, eat read meat, get drunk, eat tasty fast food french fries? If I want to take a sheeps stomache and stuff it with intestines and boil it like that nut lunecat ..who are these people to say I can't? Who are these people who are dictating what we are allowed to eat?..does anyone know?

You are still free to eat all the trans fat you want. You just can't buy it in a New York restaurant. You have to search out your own source. Kind of like how someone driving down most U.S. Interstates would have to search to find something to eat other than fast food.

I think a lot of people get hung up on the word "fat", as if the ban is an attempt to eliminate good taste.
But trans fats aren't natural. http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/reviews/transfats.html They are produced when liquid vegetable oils are heated in the presence of metal catalysts and hydrogen. Yum!!! Their main use has nothing to do with taste; they're a preservative. They're also used as hardening agents in shortening and margarine. So despite the name, regulating them is no different from regulating any other artificial chemical in the food supply.

Yeah I'm free to eat what I want but not in this every expanding area.
So If i decide grapes are all you should eat and get enough pressure to make it so you'll just accept eating grapes for the remainder of your life? As for being natural or not..so what?..I've never seen a gummy bear in the wild either. That doesn't mean the powder food eaters should have the ability to dictate that everyone must not have gummy bears. Besides I'm pretty sure it is unconstitutional to ban Americans from ingestng any substance they so chose..but then of course someone found a loophole in that with drugs..so I dunno. I also will never understand why those who like to east grass feel the need to dictate to people who don't.
