They are now arming themselves with offensive weapons, instead of just the defensive weapons they have been using in the past.

Like I said: When they decide they want it back by force they'll take it. Right now their "official" policy is "peaceful reunification and one country, two systems". When and if the policy changes you'll know. And no, we won't do a (*)(*)(*)(*) thing about it. Well, we'll (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) and moan like we do with Syria, Iran and North Korea. But I don't count whining as doing anything. If you do, cool. The reason for the current policy? Like always, it's money. Indirect trade volume between the mainland and Taiwan was a record $100 billion least year. A war is far less profitable. They have their priorities in China. And $$$$ is at the very top. It trumps everything. If they decide it doesn't you'll see it on the news.

You make it sound like it is a simple painless decision...that was the point of my analogy. If the consequences are worse than the rape, then you will accept the rape. That doesnt mean you LIKE being raped. Quote:
If I get into a car wreck, it must mean I WANTED to get into a car wreck. Otherwise I would not have been driving, right? |

I propose that we change our laws to fit your novel logic.
Auto accidents are not really accidents, they are deliberate. Because if I didnt want to get into a wreck, I wouldnt be driving. I can prevent any car wreck I get into by simply not driving, so if I get into a wreck, it is because I wanted to get into a wreck. And if I hit a pedestrian in my car, I need to be prosecuted for murder. Because if I didnt want to hit that Pedestrian, I wouldnt be driving, right? |
