I didn't try and defend him, i was just stating a fact. In fact I think O'reilly comes off often as aloft and somehow above the people within the story he is talking about - he puts on airs.

Yes, I'm comparing the chyron that appeared on O'Reilly's show on the Fox news channel to the chyron that appeard on CNN International. His show isn't disassociated with the Fox News Network.

My point was that it doesn't matter to civil libertarians whether we "appreciate" a statement or not. I support your right to free speech as much as I support Michael Moore's. If it weren't for liberals and libertarians, someone most likely would have passed a law forbidding the sort of statement you just made, whether it was a poor attempt at humor or not.

The media should not have said "Resign" as that sets a rather false impression..should have said "Steps Down".

Granted in the end its the same thing BUT Resign makes it sound oh so much more nefarious or sudden then it was or is..which is probably exactly why the media latched unto "Resign".

FOX has had some instances of words spelled wrong or a D instead of R for Foley..but CNN has had a few instances where the "mistake" is way out there..such as this one. Or the oen not long ago with the mysterious X flashing over Cheney. Not surprising though since my bet is CNN has a large number of interns/or the equivlant who are leftist types and they often think this HS level crap humor is cute.
