Default Obama FINALLY Calls Perry; on Day of the Debate

Well, nothing like being afraid you're going to get your butt handed to you on a silver platter tonight at the debates! The President finally calls Gov. Perry to express his concern for the people of Texas and the devastation and loss of life over this worst fire in our history.

    Here's the facts:

--Back in April during the first batch of fires, Perry requested a major disaster declaration from the President---which would have made the state eligible for federal assistance.
--Obama denied Perry's request on 5/3.
--Perry appealed and received partial approval July 1st. A request to expand the scope of federal relief is still pending. Our Governor has been made to beg when other states and areas get quick relief from the prez.

BUT today....ON THE DAY OF THE REPUBLICAN DEBATES, the President finally calls Perry to express his concern. Yeah right. Sorry, Mr. President...as usual you are a whole lot of days late and your concern doesn't seem all that genuine.

Didn't Perry cut the budget for fire fighters by 75% THIS YEAR? Now he expects federal funds to plug up his hole AGAIN?

It's because of people like Perry that FEMA has to scrounge for funds.

Here's hoping THAT comes up in the debate.

“Social Security has nothing to do with the deficit. Social Security is totally funded by the payroll tax levied on employers and employees. If you reduce the outgo of Social Security, that money would not go into the General Fund to reduce the deficit, that would go into the Social Security Trust Fund. So Social Security has nothing to do with balancing the budget or lowering the deficit.” –Ronald Reagan

First of all--that budget is for the upcoming year and hasn't even gone into effect yet. And yes--because of these fires it might have to be adjusted next year. but that does not negate the fact that by anyone's standards, these wildfires are a natural disaster and qualify for declaration of federal disaster status. Obama hasn't done it because 1) he doesn't like Gov Perry and 2) Texas is a Republican state and he knows the state won't go for him. You can bet your bottom dollar that if this large state was majority Democrat, he would have given us that relief months ago. He's supposed to be the president for all; not just his supporters. Other states get it for far less than what our state is going through. We pay federal taxes too, you know.

It was stated on the debate tonite that FEMA is 20B in debt. We should cut spending elsewhere before FEMA spends another dime.

Obama is an evil man and doesn't care if he make the people of Texas suffer to get payback against political opponents.

Bush, on the other hand was a good man who helped Africa with their AIDS problem even though it meant zero votes for him.

That's why I supported Bush, because he was a good and decent man.

This just shows the Lefts true colors. If its a Blue state, lets help,if its a Red State, screw them, right?I have cousins who have lost their homes to the fires and other relatives have had to flee in Bastrop County,TX.When disasters hit Liberal states, like New York ,Ive NEVER objected they should not get help because of their political stance.God forbid if the Liberals here face a disaster.
I thought Libs were for helping EVERYONE,and that everyone is equal? What happened to that?Or does that only apply during a debate? The President's job is to serve ALL AMERICANS regardless of political stance and he/she shouldnt play favorites.

So was this budget passed before or after the wildfires started?
