(CNN) -- A day after four of Sen. John McCain's top political strategists stepped down, the co-chairman of his Florida campaign was arrested Wednesday for allegedly offering an undercover police officer money for a sex act, Titusville police said.

Rep. Bob Allen leaves the Brevard County, Florida, jail Wednesday night after his arrest.

Florida state Rep. Bob Allen faces charges of solicitation for prostitution after he was arrested in a Titusville city park that had been under surveillance, police said.

He allegedly offered an undercover police officer $20 for the unspecified act. His attorney, Philip Lupo of Titusville, said the charge was a second-degree misdemeanor.

Maybe the US should legalize and control prostitution. I think it would clean up a lot of dirt and help the people involved in the actual service provision.

A local politician who no one has ever heard of. He apparently has voted fairly conservative. He solicited a prostitute. He is currently working for the campaign of someone who has compared the religious right to the nation of Islam.

I agree... this prostitution gossip is tabloid material. What? Do some people get off reading about this sleazy crap? I could care less who is paying whom for sexual satisfaction. Better than bring a 21 year old girl into the Oval office - now that is low class.

I never said once that I hate Christians, I just like to poke fun at them for the hypocrisy I see and the delusional beliefs. I will say that organized religions have caused much death and misery thruout man's history but so have pagans.
