Default Obama says he will raise black turnout

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com...black-turnout/

Obama says
Quote:
"I guarantee you African-American turnout, if I'm the nominee, goes up 30 percent around the country, minimum," Obama said.
Obama has now sealed his fate as a loser !! Why you ask !!! Obama is a Black man running for president and not a man running for president who just so happens to be Black. Blacks will never arrive at the mainstream of politics if they do not lose the " I am Black, vote for me because I am Black" syndrome. Blacks will not arrive at the apex of respect in politics until they learn that they must become people first who just so happen to be Black. I do not mean that they should forget where they came from but you have to think, talk, and ACT as if you are part of society or you will never arrive.

Default .

So now he is just the black candidate because he mentioned once that he will probably increase black voter turnout? Do you expect him to never mention that he wants a job that has only ever been occupied by old white men?

Default Obama rocks

i think you misunderstand his appeal. as a black man he knows that will generate an active voting response from the African-American community. like the democratic party he correctly recognizes that voting block has no where else to go and with him on the ballot, instead of sitting home (like they did with al gore in '00), they will show up at the polls.
he is not asking them to vote for him because he is black. he knows that as a given. the democratic party, since bill clinton, keeps offering up party insiders who have no significant appeal to the typical unaffiliated citizen ... that is the swing vote which determines elections. while hillary touts her superior experience Obama appears to be highlighting what he will bring to the election - a certain black voting block.
hillary has a similar opportunity to appeal to women voters ... would most women not want to help elect the first female president? but it will likely have to be a woman without all of hillary's negatives. bill has all of the charisma which is resident in that family. fortunately for Obama, he has it, too

Default They should be ashamed.

Quote:
"I guarantee you African-American turnout, if I'm the nominee, goes up 30 percent around the country, minimum," Obama said.
Somewhat insulting and also true, IMO. Then again, a similar percentage (3-4% of the voting population) of white Democrats would probably stay home or vote red for the same reason. Shame on them for being blind to everything but skin color.

Quote:
"Young people's percentage of the vote goes up 25-30 percent. So we're in a position to put states in play that haven't been in play since LBJ."
Let's find out.

I think that similar or even greater percentage of of white republicans would stay home or an even smaller number of that group would vote blue if a Black person was on the Repub ticket. Racism crosses both party lines in various degrees, I did not know that onlt the blind voters are racist as you point out

. Wouldn't you agree that the 'blind' Republicans are also the ones who will either stay home or vote blue.

If that Hillary wench starts to run her mouth about bringing in woman voters and emphasising the obvious, that she is a woman (allegedly) she will get the same response from me that Obama got in this post. Of course I would vote for a purple gay Yankee's fan from New York with Russian ancestors on his illigitimate lesbian illegal alien grandmother's side before I would vote for the Hillary wench.

Well I guess that now I will be called racist and a sexist!

Default Obama

is a side show. He has no chance of getting the nomination. He is trying to garner enough support to be able to power bargain with Clinton or Edwards. jmho
