It was Compromise--Enacting one half of every bad idea.........that allowed Democrats to push through their Subprime Social Spending to Nowhere in the first place........

.....Compromise is why we have our (D)ebts and (D)eficits.......

You have a point. It was compromise that got the Reagan tax cuts passed and turned the nation on to a path of record deficits and growth of proportional debt that, except for the Clinton administration, continued thru today.

Best bet is to vot the Part of No Compromise out of office so deficit reduction can be passed.

Well again.....we didnt have a Revenue Problem......we had a Spending Problem.

Federal Tax Revenue After The Reagan Tax Cuts

And lets say a deficit reduction plan was passed today.......Democrats would invent some new entitlement or subprime social program tomorrow. If you want to eliminate the (D)ebt and the (D)eficit.....you have to eliminate Democrats from Congress.

Hell...we were bankrupt in 2009....that didnt stop Democrats from passing the Largest Entitlement Program in History.

I can't argue with you that Reagan was a huge spender. Spending as a proportion of GDP in Reagan's years approached that level of the last few years.

Reagan's tax cuts resulted in the deficit tripling and the proporational debt growing rapidly.

Fortunately, Reagan was a pragmatist who raised taxes several times, reducing the impact of the initial tax cut. Still, revenues did not keep up with GDP growth during Reagan's term and that of his protege, a key reason why the debt quadrupled in size between 1981 and 1992.

And lets say a deficit reduction plan was passed today.......Democrats would invent some new entitlement or subprime social program tomorrow. If you want to eliminate the (D)ebt and the (D)eficit.....you have to eliminate Democrats from Congress.
Nonesence. The Dems passed a huge tax increase in 1993, yet spending as a percentage of GDP decreased steadily.

Hell...we were bankrupt in 2009....that didnt stop Democrats from passing the Largest Entitlement Program in History.
Our old healthcare system was unsustainable and left 50 million Americans without coverage. Reform is a necessity.

I ask that you post a link proving otherwise, or state that this post is absolute opinion!

Obama had 2 years with Dems in control, Obama is accountable for this decay in the economy, he and the Democratic majority own this mess!

That will obviously change come 2012! When Obama can go home for a nice long vacation!!!
This is an excellent response, algranny.

    Thanks for sharing!

If Rubio is so freaking concerned about the deficit and debt, why has he refused to compromise on taxes to get a deficit deal done?

He doesn't give a (*)(*)(*)(*) about the deficit if it mean the rich folks he caters to might have to pay a little more taxes.

Another complete hypocrite like the rest of the Republican Tea Party.

Yea Yea Yea and lets just pretend the last three (3) quarters of 2008 just didn't happen and no one was in The Oval Office. All this started on January 20th 2009, when the Economy was handed off in excellent shape.

You're free to go back to your Group Circle Jerk ... and Rubio can (*)(*)(*)(*) or Run for President with the other GOP Bozos.

If you are under 35... you should be furious at Obama. You and your kids, and your unborn children/grandchildren will have to pay the debt.

INEPTOCRACY - A system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least like to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with the goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

The last thing this country needs is MORE TAXES on the Host Organism......while the first thing this country needs is a refinement to the Parasite--our bloated out of control bankrupt Nanny statist government.

Our 2 Trillion+ of current government revenue is more than enough to run the limited government were supposed to have.

There is no way to tax our way out of this......you could seize all the income of the rich and still come nowhere close to balancing Obama's bloated reckless budget.
