Thread: US Marines Peeing on Dead Taliban

  1. Default US Marines Peeing on Dead Taliban

Yet another case of stupid, unprofessional, disrepectful troops.

The case file for this sort of thing (and I include the instances of British troops also), doing this sort of thing is now bursting to capacity.

We've seen Abu Graib, helicopters mowing down civilians and children, contractors involved in murder and rape, soldiers cutting fingers off dead bodies, the list goes on and on.

I think too many of the Western troops over there seem to think this is some kind of perveted holiday. They get to go somewhere where they feel free and liberated enough, to act in a manner they simply cannot back home.

The US military has said it is investigating a video that appears to show a group of Marines urinating on dead Taliban fighters.

A man's voice is heard saying: "Have a great day, buddy."

Now couple this with the Marine Corps manual on fighting the Taliban (posted by Margot), and you have a cluster fook of monumental proportions:

For centuries, this has been the paradox of warfare in Afghanistan: “The more enemies you kill, the faster you lose. Because of badal (revenge), the Pashtun have a saying: ‘Kill one enemy, make ten.’ ”

It's like they've never heard of the internet. Even tribesmen in Africa on a hunt with spears have access to it.

Those marines have, in essense if not strict reality, killed other American and allied troops.

Absolutely. For all the moaning about Manning and Wiki leaks "being responsible for US deaths", this is far far more dangerous for boots on the ground.

They may as well have titled the Youtube clip "Taliban Recuitment Video".

And that's not even taking into account the reputation of US troops, which is currently in tatters.

Yep. The arrogance of the Bush Administration, thinking that they could not only win in Afganistan, but do so in parallel with Iraq. Shear arrogance and disregard for the lives of young easily influenced American men and women.

That was my thinking as well.

Exactly, and shamefully, the same members of public are falling for the same BS build up. I'm not sure if it's (*)(*)(*)(*)ed stupidily, a lack of education, indoctorination, blind patriotism or great pro-war PR.

It's probably a mixture of all of the above. These people should be ashamed of themselves, for their complete and utter inability to engage their brains.

If the US elects Romney or Santorum or Gingrich, I am very much afraid we'll attack Iran
