Then why don't they stand up and protest about having to pay for it? And I know at least one Catholic on this forum who is fine with the death penalty.

If your contraception fails and you get an abortion, you have used it as a form of contraception. Hey don't feel bad, lots of women use abortion as their main form of contraception.

Contraception PREVENTS a pregnancy. Abortion ENDS one. Abortion is not a form of contraception. How many times must I state the obvious?

Yes, it does. You implied that women who get abortions are basically apprised of the procedure and its full range of possible medical implications. I am simply informing you that medical science can be pretty murky at times, so there is no way for them to really understand how this procedure will impact them physiologically and psychologically. Having a living organism removed from your body is a profound interruption of natural processes.

Maybe they don't. How is forcing them to see the image of the fetus they are aborting going to help anything? I fail to see how trying to make an emotionally trying time even more difficult is anything other than evil. It certainly does not do a better job of explaining the implications of the procedure. That can be done by counseling the patient before they go through with it. There is no reason to show people the image of a fetus other than to guilt them into not getting an abortion. It's wrong and not the place of the government to do so. That people would even suggest such a law is sick and I hope every one of the people who supported this garbage is removed for the betterment of the state of Virginia and humanity as a whole. Such evil should not exist in our government.
Alright, you have a point there. It doesn't really help them to appreciate the medical implications of the procedure. Would you then be supportive of some kind of mandatory education program? Personally, I think we should encourage adoption as a first resort.

Yes, then they could either be single mothers...
Perhaps they would have grown to love their child more than anything in the world. Or maybe they could have put them up for adoption.

...or still with guys who do not make enough to support them and a child. Like I said, none of them are disappointed in the decision they made, but it's not an easy decision and it stays with you. It doesn't need to be made even more difficult.
If it was emotionally scarring, then perhaps they did not really make the right decision. Perhaps having the child and raising it would have been the most rewarding experience of their life.

Yet not necessary. I'm all for providing the patient with more information, but not shoving it down their throats.

Slightly off topic. But you can't go on about Catholics being opposed to paying for one thing when they are happy to pay for something else which also causes death. That equals hypocrisy, which is my point.

IT'S NONE OF YOUR FORKEN BUSINESS WHY SOMEBODY DECIDES TO HAVE AN ABORTION. Why don't you all just stick to harassing each other and leave the rest of us alone? Any woman who's at the point of having an abortion has all the problems she can handle and doesn't need you to add to them.
Sorry, but abortion is a complicated issue. You cannot just pretend that the unborn human organism is irrelevant to the discussion.
