A Malaria vaccine is good news, for everyone.

Does Blade share the standard antipathy toward Europe that many U.S. conservatives do? If so, I wonder if we should tell him that the vaccine being supported by Gates was developed by GlaxoSmithKline researchers in Belgium, who then conducted clinical trials in cooperation with researchers in Mozambique....

It could very well be that all the researchers and funders are white; I don't know.

Of course, if you do any digging you'll find that malaria research has languished for decades because those same whites decided that looking for a cure to a disease that mostly afflicts poor third-worlders wasn't worth it. Shall we attribute that charming fact to whites as well?

Turning stuff like this into a race issue is just stupid.

I thought Malaria was on the rise in America. There have been cases of it in the south and maybe here in the northwest?

Which I guess explains why it was being researched again. Which further suggests that what's going on in Africa is probably testing. A finished vaccine will be available in America -- ironically, at prices that most Americans of any skin color won't be able to afford.
