I'm not particularly vexed that I got pulled in to the secondary inspection. It seemed more than a trifle absurd given my age etc. but oh well. What I think IS a very big problem is that I get detained/questioned on my way out of the country. This is entirely new, and it wasn't happening to me only. American folks were getting pulled over and questioned on their way out of the country. If you can't see how that is an egregious intrusion into the affairs of your own citizens and into the affairs of those who come to visit, then you really do have blinders on.

If you do not enjoy your visits here, then why do you come?

Maybe you dont' get it either. I'll spell it out, ignoring all the inane responses, all the invitations to stay the hell out etc. None of them address the issue at hand, anyways.

It is none of their (*)(*)(*)(*) business where I'm going, or when I'm coming back. I live in a free country. I am free to come and go as I please. The only other place I know of where this kind of thing occurrs would be a commnist dictatorship, and those are getting pretty hard to find these days.

I've been to Canada several times to go to races in Toronto and Montreal over the years.

Sometimes I've been stopped, sometimes I haven't. This is nothing new.

Of course you will be stopped by Canadian government officials as you try to enter Canada. That is understood and accepted as right and proper.

Have you been stopped by your own government while attempting to leave your own country?

Why do I have to question everything my government does? I have no idea why they questioned you on the way out of my country & I really do not care. It does not mean I am napping, it just means I have a different level of priorities than yourself.

Since I am not an expert on national security or border control, then its safe to say they could be doing a lot of sensible things that are for my safety, but not obvious to me or the average Canadian observer.

I know I am not the first person to tell you this, but why don't you stay in Canada a little more and avoid all of this unpleasantness?

Until you can give me some sinister reason for their searching you as you leave the USA, I really have a hard time believing I should be upset.

Why is it that you need no proof of evil intent by my government to make such a negative suggestion, but you expect me to prove my government is not being evil as some justification for why I am not "napping"?

To me it seems like you are pissed off because you were inconvenienced for some reason you do not understand and you want someone to vent with about it.
