Default Economy

"When does optimism -- the Bush campaign's favorite word these days -- become an inability to face facts? On Friday, President Bush insisted that a seriously disappointing jobs report, which fell far short of the pre-announcement hype, was good news: "We're witnessing steady growth, steady growth. And that's important. We don't need boom-or-bust-type growth."

But Mr. Bush has already presided over a bust. For the first time since 1932, employment is lower in the summer of a presidential election year than it was on the previous Inauguration Day. Americans badly need a boom to make up the lost ground. And we're not getting it." NY Times 2004-07-06

Default You'd Better Find Something Else!

The unemployment number is EXACTLY the same as it was just before Bill Clinton was re-elected! You libs thought it was a great number then!!
And it's FACT that things have greatly improved. Expectations are only guesses anyway. FACT is the Consumer Sentiment is steadily moving UP! And that's because consumers know that jobs are improving and the the overall Economy has greatly improved. The fastest growing economy we've had in some 20 years....

University of Michigan survey up to 96 in July from 95.6 in June; Wall Street expected 97.July 16, 2004: 11:53 AM EDT

NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. consumer sentiment improved in early July, supported by a relatively healthy jobs market and a fairly optimistic outlook on the world's largest economy, according to a survey released Friday. The University of Michigan's preliminary survey of consumer confidence for July showed its sentiment index rose to 96.0 from a final reading of 95.6 in June, according to sources who saw the subscription-only report.

Economists polled by Reuters had forecast a rise to 97.0, with increased optimism due to an improved employment picture and a generally healthy economy.

Default JP5 with her head in the sand...

How many jobs have been lost since your boy stole office?
How many bankruptcies?
How many foreclosures?
How many jobs "out-sourced"?

YOU are the one that needs to look at the numbers dearie...

Default Ok, keep telling yourself that

Notice that Bush doesn't describe the numbers, but stays on topic of rate. The rate is going up faster than in 20 years. It's easy to make the numbers look like what you want them to look like. I'll believe the hype when the numbers reflect improvement, not the rate of improvement. A good example of what I'm talking about is when a fat person tries to lose weight. They stop eating and maybe lose about 10 pounds in the first week. That's GREAT you must think!!!! Why at that rate, this fatso could lose 100 pounds in just over 2 months and be normal again. But in reality all that weight was water weight, and then after one more week the fat person levels off and eventually over the next two months the fat person ends up back where they started. Right now, Bush has been able to state that the job rate is faster than in 20 years, but just wait, it will level off, and then as predicted, we will be right where we started if he is re-elected only there will be nothing we can do about it.

Thanks to Clinton's bust, we've lost about 1 million or so jobs.

Not sure, how many did we have during the first 4 years of Clinton?

Thanks to Clinton's lack of foresight the answer would be thousands. I'd use the same to describe how many died on 9/11 thanks to his lack of foresight as to Osama and Al Qaeda. Next.

it's called a recession, and we are no longer losing jobs or any of the other things you are saying. The economy is growing, but you will never admit that, at least not while Bush is in office.

Default So the 300,000 new claims for unemployment every month

aren't real???

Bush is in real danger of being the first pResident since Hoover to have a net loss of jobs on his watch...

Just so long as we get to add two more (bush and "Go **** yourself) in November I'll be fine....

The label of intellectually dishonest has hit home with you so you feel the need to parrot it. I guess imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

By the way, that post represents about 2/3 of what you post. Just thought I'd show it to you so you can see it from the other side. Try actually thinking and posting, just give it a try once.
