Thread: Z's First Court Appearance: He Lied Under Oath

People have overlooked how Z straight up lied the first time he spoke in court. During the apology (or whatever label you wish to use) he stated:

"I did not know how old he was. I thought he
was a little bit younger than I was, and I did not know if he was armed or
not."

He claims he didn't know Trayvon's age and thought he was just a "little bit younger" than he was. Z is 28 so that means Z claimed at the bond hearing Trayvon was approximately 25 years old. I guess Z forgot we have him on a recorded call saying Trayvon was in his "late teens."

I've no doubt some of Z's supporters will try to claim he didn't lie but Z's recorded words leave no spin room. Only the room spinning for Z's defense.

How do you know what age Zimmerman meant by " a little younger than me"?

Since he never cited an exact age this parsing is beyond laughable.

"A little bit younger" is legally undefinable, and any 1st year law student would laugh you out of court for trying.

GZ first saw TM at night from a distance and at first thought Trayvon was in his "late teens". This is what he said in his recorded call.

Later, when Trayvon doubled back and attack him, GZ thought TM was approximately 25 years old from his size and from the power with which he hit him with his fists before GZ could legally defend himself against TMs physical aggression.

Like I said, some Z supporters will flat out claim he didn't lie. There is no way a "little bit younger" covers the span of almost a decade.

I was expecting you guys to play this bit so I was prepared to point out Z claimed on the stand he didn't know how old Trayvon was. Technically true because he didn't know his exact age was 17 but he had no problem saying Trayvon was in his "late teens." That proves his claim on the stand he had no idea of Trayvon's age as completely false.

Now find a way to try and say Z didn't lie while also claiming you aren't defending him.
