Funny how when one talks of trade, national borders are imaginary. When one talks of immigration, national borders are imaginary. But when one talks of expansionism and imperialism, national borders become very real.

It is common sense to defend your allies (such as NATO), form wgatever threat exists, which is what the US is doing..defending.
Russia is just jealous that Poland is siding with the US, and allowing her to place DEFENSIVE missiles on her soil.
The Russians are petulant, 12 year old girls, when it comes to Eastern Europe; they still think it's theirs...

"When the Electorate realizes they can vote themselves money from the Treasury, it will herald the end of the Republic." - Benjamin Franklin (most likely)
True. They wish to be top dog. Globalism. To be sure. Our little poodle in the white house is piddleing on the floor. Obama has no intention of forceing the issue, he does not want to act arogently, as he stated we sometimes do in Berlin. He is the weak sister in the room, and everyone else in the room knows it and will walk on him.

Obama is the player with the strong hand being intimidated by the bluff and tuff talk, he is blinking and thinking that their hand may be better than his. Russia has already shown that they are willing to with hold energy from western Europe as they did during the Georgia crisis. They are not playing a game, they are looking for weakness and they smell blood in the water. The middle east shake up, Iran developing nukes, changes in governments in Egypt and Libya, and they are already supporters of Syria, Russia sees an opportunity to reassert themselves, and when Putin wins the election, he will do more, and Obama will do less, and the whole balence of power will have to be reassessed.
So far this topic is one sided. Americans lost in flag waving, screaming they take on russia.
If this forum was not so split up into geogrpahical groups and the russians actually took interest. They could join in. to give the counter argument. Explain where they nuke etc...
I do enjoy a good military virtual war game. Less messy than the real thing.
