Once again, the voters show, when given the chance to express their TRUE FEELINGS ABOUT GAY MARRIAGE, they VOTED TO BAN IT:


North Carolina Passes Amendment to Ban Gay Marriage

North Carolina voters have passed a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage today via a statewide ballot measure, according the Associated Press.

North Carolina already had a statute banning gay marriage. Amendment One declares that “marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized in this state” — vague language that opponents say could threaten domestic partnership protections for all couples while closing the door to any sort of same-sex unions.

Twenty-eight states have constitutional amendments that ban gay marriage; another ten ban it by statute. Until today, North Carolina was the only state in the South did not have a constitutional ban.

While the country is about evenly split on gay marriage in polls , supporters have yet to succeed at the ballot box. Statewide ballot measures on gay marriage have come up 31 times since 1998. Advocates for gay marriage lost each time.

EVERY SINGLE TIME the issue has come before the voters, they REJECT SAME SEX MARRIAGE...EVERY SINGLE TIME.

38 states have laws and/or amendment to ban it, yes the astoundingly DISHONEST media tries to pretend America is "evenly split" about it...

Federal law will overturn it of course. Rights cannot be voted on.

The ban is contrary to the constitution

Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution

Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

The peoples vote does not matter. Denying a man to marry another man is not equal protection of the law. Yet another unconstitutional state amendment.

Amazing how it is precisely the people who are calling themselves "patriots" and call for remaining faithful to the Constitution who go AGAINST the Constitution when it fit their purpose of bigotry and prejudice!

Its only a matter of time before the SCOTUS hears the case. And it will be found to be a constitutional protection.
