If you take morals or compassion out of the equation, and just institute laws that basically put a wall between illegals and society (businesses aren't allowed to hire illegals, schools aren't allowed to educate, no drivers licenses, no income taxes, etc..etc..) it still doesn't work. There are a lot of jobs that American Citizens just don't want to do (see Alabama and Georgia's rotting crops and multi million dollar losses piling up).

I was merely suggesting that by making them citizens, and then REALLY clamping down on immigration and boarder jumping, then there is an opportunity to turn them into a workforce that both propels the economy, rather then leeching off it.

(and i fully support closing that loophole. along with pretty much every other tax loophole there is, but that's a different discussion all together)

Also, As a Canadian, I have a vested interest in how America goes, as you do mine. to think otherwise is idiocy.
If you think making amnesty is so great then i suggest you get in touch with Canadian politicians about starting sanctuary cities within Canada. That and give them welfare and they will flock to Canada. Think how much it would "spur your economy".. Go for it Canada you can have our 20 million illegals if you want them! Heck instead of deporting them we can just push for them to become Canadian citizens! You are all for that arent you?

Yea, that'll never fly while people who were alive during ww2 are still around. Its that whole 'profiling' thing that sticks out in peoples minds.

Do you mean profiling the stupid? If you hand a cop your license, registration and proof of insurance and they are all up to date, you'll get your ticket and be on your way. If your driving without any of them you deserve a thorough inspection.

Its a lie. The supreme court is gonna slap obamas face in like 29 days on SB1070.
With their infernal racial set-asides, racial quotas, and race norming, liberals share many of the Klan's premises. The Klan sees the world in terms of race and ethnicity. So do liberals! Indeed, liberals and white supremacists are the only people left in America who are neurotically obsessed with race. Conservatives champion a color-blind society. -- Ann Coulter

60% Say Border Control Is Priority in Immigration Reform

    Sunday, March 25, 2012

Voters continue to support a welcoming immigration policy and still feel strongly that immigration reform should focus on border control.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 60% of Likely Voters think when it comes to immigration reform, gaining control of the border is more important than legalizing the status of undocumented workers who are already in the United States. Thirty-three percent (33%) feel the opposite is true.

This will become an issue and will hammer Obama in November.
