Indeed, as I stated, there has been a history in this country of trying to prevent some groups from voting.

Did you check your thread title?

What's going on, today? It's like progressives are intentionally embarrassing themselves with gaffes.

What I said was historically there have been attempts to prevent some demographics from voting. In this case it would appear there is no issue with folks running around and voting under the pretense of being someone else, so why impose the burden, financial and otherwise, on folks to go get the required ID?
Ask Michelle Obama who requires ID for book signings.

There was already one example given in this thread of voter fraud taking place in Washington. Since showing ID is a common thing in our society, I don't see why asking for ID at the voting booth is a problem. Well, I do see why the left has a problem.... too many Democrat Party voters are ineligible to vote, and there is no limit to what the left will do to make sure Obama gets another term.

Doesn't sound all the "stringent" to me, unless you are NOT A LEGAL VOTER...then it sucks, no doubt..but,who cares about you,and your illegal attempts to vote?

    Oh.

See the claim of the other poster was that they would give you free rides and such. Am I missing that in your link?

Which is an amazing claim. Are book signings part of our voting process? Or is your argument simply searching for anything to compare voting with as there is no basis for your position?

It's mainly to point out how stupid it is to be upset with asking for ID, when it's such a common part of society.

Perhaps, but then again we can easily reference the OP for my argument on this.

Historically there has been an effort to prevent groups form voting, and this imposes a burden on folks to attempt to prevent something that is not affecting elections.

SC DMV Announces Free Rides for Voters Who Need Photo IDs

Gov. Nikki Haley and DMV Director Kevin Shwedo announce free rides to the DMV for people who need photo IDs to vote.

One of the biggest criticisms of South Carolina's new Voter ID law is that about 178,000 South Carolina registered voters don't have the photo ID the law requires to vote, and some of them may not have a way to get to a DMV to get one.

Wednesday, Gov. Nikki Haley and DMV Director Kevin Shwedo announced that the DMV will offer free rides to a DMV office to those citizens.

The free rides will be only on Wednesday, September 28th, during "State Identification Card Day". Citizens who are 18 or older and don't have a state driver's license or ID card will be provided with a ride to a local DMV office and then back home.

Gov. Haley says, "What we heard when we came out with this (law) was, 'Well, people can't get there.' And so this is saying we want to take every hurdle out of your way. If you've got questions and don't know how to get a birth certificate, we're going to help you get one."

Those who need a free ride can call toll-free 1-855-STATE-ID (1-855-782-8343) now through September 22nd. During that call, a DMV representative will ask a citizen for his or her name, address, contact information and preferred DMV office. The DMV representative will explain the requirements to get an ID card and try to find out if the caller has those documents.
Racist Free Rides to the DMV!

I've already asked you how the "poor and minorities" are being affected by this, and you did not have an answer. Furthermore, I already pointed out that one example of voter fraud was already given. I can only assume that the people who are against voter ID are Democrats who support voter fraud because it is likely to benefit them politically.
