Thread: Observe the tolerance of gay activist!

  1. Default Observe the tolerance of gay activist!

In this video, members of a pro-traditional marriage group are physically and verbally assaulted, spit on, maced, yelled at, flipped off, sprayed with pesticide, have bibles ripped up in front of them, their literature stolen and set on fire, their banners destroyed, and one guy was actually hit in the head with a beer bottle.

What gives these gay activist the right to do such things to people who are peacefully assembled? How is their outrage justifiable?

That kind of behavior isn't justified. That's for sure. But these are the extremes of the group (as in the physical attackers, pesticide spraying people). A good portion of the nation believes same sex marriage is okay, but you don't see your neighbors attacking each other (I hope..). Outrageous behavior won't get any movement anywhere, it's a shame all large movements have these types of people...

Keep in mind many people, especially in high school or college, have hazed or bullied or assaulted homosexual people. Sometimes to the point of death. Each side has the wackos, unfortunately...

I support gay marriage myself, on a constitutional basis, but I must admit... I'm getting really tired of how the far left seems to think it can demand tolerance and justice... yet act like a bunch of nutters (OWS being a good example). I think the Chick-Fil-A debacle was the tipping point for me.

I think you have to take this with a grain of salt.

You're gonna get your crazies in any place. These are unjustified, yet you have to look at the source. We are seeing bits and pieces of edited footage cropped together. We have no context other than what these people are giving us, and you have to realize their goal is propaganda.

Had I seen these moments laid out in the full I would be more apt to draw a harsher conclusion. What I get from it is that these people were unjustly assaulted and that several individuals need to be punished for assault.
I'm not saying let's go kill all the stupid people...I'm just saying lets remove all the warning labels and let the problem sort itself out.

Some people speak of bullying of homosexuals like it's a bad thing.

I don't think their was any provocation other than the banners. It wouldn't matter anyways, two wrongs don't make a right. I think the aggressors in these cases feel justified in their behavior via their victim hood status, that and it's basically become acceptable to be anti-Christian in our society.

This is nothing but religious propaganda. The Tradition, Family and Property is another religious group that that wants to suppress the rights of homosexuals. Simple as that. They want to talk about tolerance, when they are one of the most intolerant groups themselves. Pot meet kettle.

The TFP has zero tolerance for gay rights. Getting spit on, yelled at, etc is NOTHING compared to the indignity of being treated like a second class citizens day in and day out, and groups like the TFP are happy to treat gays like second class citizens.

Gays have stated there case peacefully for decades, only for it to fall on death ears, because religious groups hate homosexuals . This hate is an irrational hate based on a book that was written 2,000 years ago when man was still living on dirt floors and had no knowledge of the universe.

The violence will escalate, especially with (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)s like Rep. Andy Gipson of Mississippi calling for the deaths of gays via verses in the bible. People are feed up with the intolerance shown by religion and religious groups on a daily basis.

Propaganda? Are you suggesting the incidents in the video are staged? They have a right to be pro-traditional marriage, they have a right to try to influence legislation. Influencing legislation and peaceably demonstrating doesn't justify the type of hate that's been aimed at them.

Not sure if I should dignify that with a response.

The aggressors seem to be mostly random acts.

Also...its always been acceptable to be anti-christian. That's the beauty of the first amendment. Freedom of and FROM religion.
