Next time try a non biased source. This guys in
"ponds" included 10 and 20 foot dams and enough water to fill 20 olympic swimming pools.

Yeah.... as the article states, its not illegal to collect rain water in the state id Oregon. But it is illegal to divert 20 olympic pools of water to dams that have no permits.

Strange water laws are not a liberal conspiracy. They're a 100+ year old issue. As an old saying goes, "Whiskey is for drinking, and water is for fighting over."

But crafty those liberals are, having known 100+ years ago to fight over the water rights and create very strict laws to enforce those water rights.

So there should be a limit on how much rain water someone collect from rain that falls on their own property????

Yes. Here is what the article said...

Harrington was found guilty two weeks ago of breaking a 1925 law for having, what state water managers called “three illegal reservoirs” on his property.
Man those "liberals" back in 1925!

Yeah I wonder who picks up the tab when those unregulated dams break and cause a flood? Any ideas rightwads?

Just more bureaucrats wasting time and money. No surprise.

Harrington apparently owns 170 acres of land. On this land, he's created ponds for recreational fishing. The ponds account for about 40 acre-feet of water (roughly 20 Olympic size swimming pools).

My guess is that the only reason he's attracted so much state attention is because Big Butte Creek is home to a lot of endangered species. The concern could be that his diversions of the water will negatively affect these species.

I'd have to know more about the situation to reach a conclusive view on this.

I can sympathize with Harrington concerning his property rights, but at the same time, it appears that other interests are involved as well.
"Chaos... isn't a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail and never get to try again. The fall breaks them.
And some are given a chance to climb, but they refuse. They cling to the realm, or the gods, or love. Illusions.
Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is."

he cant divert the water directly from a stream onto his property to fill a pond..but he can use a pump to fill it or drill a well..this is not a new law..calif has the same rules too..

With their infernal racial set-asides, racial quotas, and race norming, liberals share many of the Klan's premises. The Klan sees the world in terms of race and ethnicity. So do liberals! Indeed, liberals and white supremacists are the only people left in America who are neurotically obsessed with race. Conservatives champion a color-blind society. -- Ann Coulter

    I am jack's righteous indignation....

It may "appear" that way but unless someone can demonstrate that that is actually the case, it is nothing more than presumptuous speculation based upon the say-so of some loser bureaucrats.
