Default Obama / Bloomberg rumor if Hillary wins Dem nomination...

Hillary and Obama: It's About to Get Real Ugly
by Armstrong Williams
Posted: 02/18/2008

http://www.humanevents.com/article.p...5021&page=1#c1

"The word on the street is that the Obama campaign and New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg have already met and devised an incredible plan if Clinton wins the nominee. Mayor Bloomberg would give nearly $1 billion to Obama's campaign after which Obama would bolt from the Democratic Party and run as an Independent candidate with king-maker Bloomberg as his running mate. The Obama campaign realizes that Obama is too new at this game and doesn't have the political weight of the Clintons to bring in the true heavy-hitters of the party's hierarchy. So, according to sources it was Bloomberg himself who suggested this cunning strategy."

Default two bites of the apple - love it

there is a certain irony that while the media keeps asking Dr. Paul if he would consider running on an independent ticket, recognizing that has no potential to succeed, it has totally missed this creative alternative.
so, now we have the mayor of the big apple giving Obama two bites of it

If he ever intended to run again he'd never do that. Besides all that would happen is a split between the DNC and the ObamaBloom Party..
GOP would then not even have to try.

would think you would break out all of your pom poms for this

hillary could not win with demo votes being siphoned to the Obama ticket

potentially, McCain would be able to garner enough votes to prevail

even having hillary as the demo candidate without a third party Obama candidacy would not give McCain the same potential to be elected

It's difficult to discern the shuffling of the cards at this time; Obama/Bloomberg would take much of the center which cuts directly into McCain who doesn't have support from the right wing of his party and has only lukewarm support amongst his current following. Then, with the prospect of : "the miracle" -- a Huckabee (or similar) for the fundamentalists declares and makes for a multi-fractured election paradigm altogether.... eh? That ballot, imo, squeezes McCain to the bottom of the pile! Wonder how that situation would be received.....?

There is no way this will happen. All it does is GUARENTEE a Republican victory. (See Bull Moose Party)

Wow... That would be a winner. Anti-Hillary Democrats, Independents, anti-McCain Republicans... There's a "working majority". And it cleverly gets around the "sore loser" laws that would give Paul Hell by making Obama a running mate...
This will be especially effective if Hillary wins due to superdelegates and the DNC wimping out and seating Michigan and Florida delegates- twwo things that will cause a lot of conflict in the Crat Party!

EDIT: Oops... Read it wrong.
Wouldn't work. Obama could not run successfully as an Indie due to "sore loser" lawws in some states... or maybe he could. Maybe that's a bigger problem for Republicans.
I know Texas is such a state (a definite need for any Republican, written off by Democrats)... but I don't know if there are any significant blue or swing states with such laws.

I agree, won't happen as it will guarantee an R victory and that Obama will never be able to run for President again when he inevitably loses.
