We've got a couple Kosovo threads. So lets keep this one on track and post whatever in the others.

I'm wondering about what people think will happen with the Serbs still in Kosovo. There seems to be a lot of anger and agression on both sides. And, while I don't know what they'd do, I imagine the Serbs will somehow find a way to be a thorn in Kosovo's side. And Kosovo will have to play it pretty soft with them.

Thoughts?

Also for the Albanians. If you could give the serb section of Kosovo back to the Serbs would you?

Serbs are already recognizing the new reality. Serbs know and understand that Albanians are harmless. Serbs know and forsee a bright future living as citizens of Republic of Kosova. A few Serbian nationalists of Kostunica kind, unfortunately in charge of Serbia, are constantly coercing local people to not obey the law, not integrate themselves in the Republic of Kosova.

There is nothing to give. We have embraced the democratic values and we have evolved under these democratic circumstances.
Kosova's territory will remain intact.

Kosova's government and its citizens will guarantee the rights of every person who is resident of Kosova.

I know, it will take a while. Serbs have been RE-EDUCATED AND NOURISHED with a lot of mythic propaganda, thus it will take a while for them to calm down and accept the reality. I am assertive Serbia will recognize the Independence of Kosova, one day as well!

Today, Serbs are on the street because they have been deceived by their government! No jobs, no economy, no future!..
It's not Kosova......The world knows it.....

Everyone will recognize it, the voices will be quelled, the people will be 'happy'. Even if all this is true - what is going to happen to the fundamentalists - you have given no information that is even relevant to the opposition of independence. I agree with all the reasons you've said for independence, what is your take on those statements against independence (i.e. the KLA). There are always two sides, truth lies somewhere in the middle.

Um I think you got your threads crossed commonsense. This is the "serbs still in Kosovo" thread. The "Reasons for and against independence" thread is two doors down on the right.

Still the question in the middle there "what is going to happen to the fundamentalists" is relevant. What do you think the worst things will be that some of the Serbs in the boarder will do and what will you do in response?

The Kosovar parliament has not given any official word on their involvement with minorities. It is all in the Ahtisaari plan, the Kosovo parliament has no power over the UN and NATO. It will be this way for years, it is a military asset, not a self functioning and funded democratic country.

You know, for all the trouble it's worth, (and it is a lot reading all this nonsense about countries I'll never even visit) a preponderance of the people seem to agree the dialogue which I provide is inanimate held to the 'truths' endowed to us by our bureaucracy. As such it leaves me with a feeling of antipathy which I counter with credible facts. And yet, it is always to little avail.

There is no way of knowing, but an underground movement/act could easily provoke the Serbian side of things. Given the fact Kosovo has just become independent, I would guess it will not occur soon. I think the radicals in Kosovo's parliament are much keener than we believe.

Why should ever Serbs integrate into your false state? Why haven't Albanians ever try to integrate themselves into Serbian society? What you are asking for is legalizing NATO aggression, legalizing exodus of Serbs and and discard of Serbain national identity. All of these will not happen.

Serbian economy is in much better state now than during the Milosevic period. And yes - there is future, no matter how much you and your countrymen would not like it to exist.
