Exxon Mobil Corp. chairman and CEO Rex Tillerson will retain both of those jobs at the world’s biggest publicly traded oil company.
A highly public, Rockefeller-led push to separate those two roles failed again Wednesday at the company’s annual shareholder meeting.

Stripping Tillerson of the chairman’s job in favor of an independent director was the main focus of the meeting. In the end, the measure got support of only 39.5 percent of shareholders, slightly less than last year’s 40 percent, despite a push by descendants of John D. Rockefeller, the founder of Exxon Mobil predecessor Standard Oil Corp.

Risk taking is only part of the success for a business. It is not and should not be the only main factor for people to open a new business.

And I guess the money they have just grew on trees huh? No way they had to work for it from your perspective eh?


(by the way don't try the tired, inherited it bit, because less than 1% of all millionaires acquired wealth through inheritance, most of it was self made)

99.999% of all CEO's were at the bottom of the ladder at one point. The difference is that they were a) motivated, b) pushed themselves over the "norm," and c) strove to personal success.

Find me a CEO who got his job without working his way up to it.

Find me a CEO who ever whined about how much "the other guy" was making.

Find me a CEO who believes in any of the socialist ideas that the current democrats have.
