I don't think it will work. The fault zones are to unstable in that region and would be disasterous if an earthquake was to happen.

Kind of a neat idea but I don't really see any point in building one. Seems like it would still be better to just use ships and planes when traveling back and forth.

I think it's an excellent idea -- as long as it can be done safely.

But we're talking about a direct, cheap route between Asia and North America. It should provide a huge boost to a lot of economies, at least one of which I belong to.

I'd need a lot of convincing as to its safety before I'd let my family in that tunnel, though.
