http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/mid...st/3556714.stm

So tell me again how this isn't about the oil?

Default i figured it out!!!

The devil, since he has been working against the bush admin since the begining (in the form of liberals), has mystically whipped the WMDs to another country, to undermine the bush admin once again. (maybe he transported it to the other countries in the axis of evil. Yeah we get to attack them!!!)

Default Its too early for you to be hittin the boddy's

logic:

1. Because there was no nuclear program doesn't mean that it was about oil

2. The words about oil are meaningless and vague

3. We didn't have this information before the war

4. Neither did Hans, William the Cigar or many others

Default It's not about the oil

Quote:
Some materials were never accounted for, giving weapons inspectors reason to believe that there were still some weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

But Mr Jafar said that production figures were exaggerated, and the inspectors' estimates merely reflected the difference between existing materials and the inflated figures.

"That doesn't mean the material actually exists," he said.

Not coming clean

However, inspectors claim that it was the evasive behaviour of Mr Jafar himself and his failure to come clean about the programme that led them to believe that Iraq had to be hiding something.
So it seems that Bush went off of current intelligence reports collaberated by several countries all that said that Iraq had WMD. Where's the lie? The article clearly states that the behavior of this man (and probably other scientists in the Saddam regiem) led them to believe that the program had not been destroyed. And there is no proof that it had been (indeed we still don't know if it was, this is the claims of one Saddam loyalist, not the entire picture). So where is the lie? This just more liberal garbage that you blindly spew from your pie hole while claiming Bush supporters are blind and brainwashed. HA

Default Had to be hiding "something"...

based on THAT you invade a country?

Spew that...

From the part you quoted..."That doesn't mean the material actually exists,"

That means based on ASSUMPTIONS the American people were led to a war that didn't have to be fought...

Of course a country that we KNOW has WoMD (North Korea) we ignore..because all they have to offer the world is Kimchi....

Default uh...

Perhaps the better question is this: "How was it about oil?"

Iraq's oil is owned by the (free) Iraqi people now, not by the U.S. government.

Before the war we received far, far more oil from Canada then we ever did from Iraq.

After the war... we... uh... receive far, far more oil from Canada then we ever do from Iraq.

Yeah, gee whiz... look at all those oil revenues flowing in from Iraq.

North Korea HAS nukes but no oil....

2. The words about oil are meaningless and vague
Try the words "Halliburton" and "No-bid contracts"...

3. We didn't have this information before the war
More proof that the intel agencies royally screwed up...and then of course there's Unka Dicks numerous visits to Foggy Bottom....

4. Neither did Hans, William the Cigar or many others
Hans was on the trail whilst bush the idiot was playing cowboys and Injuns..
BTW it is NEVER too early for Boddy's....

Default intentionally blind

Bush says he's pro-life and against gay marriage, so that trumps the fact that he likes killing people of other religions, taking over peaceful soveriegn nations on a whim and screwing the poor to help the rich. it seems pro-life and anti-gay gets trump status in many republican eyes. Everything else, no matter how criminal or evil, is ignored. I have family and friends that refuse to believe Bush can tell a lie.

Look at all those revenues flowing into Halliburton's coffers...

If it wasn't about the oil why were the historical and religious sights left ungaurded but the oil pipeplines weren't? Planning for Iraq's future economic prosperity or protecting US assets paid for in blood?

First off. North Korea is a sticky situation that must be dealt with. Problem is China. If China has North Korea's back, our options are very limited. You can't just take on 1/5 of the worlds population so close to their home turf. If we can get China to basically say North Korea is on it's own, we have much more room to maneuver and we can possibly go in and free the people of that country. Kimchi, by the way, is the single most foul substance on this planet.

Now you are right, the scientist does make it a point to say "That doesn't mean that the materials exist". I didn't want to cut that out of the quote of the article because it could change the overall meaning. That, however, does nothing to change the point. Was it known for sure? No it wasn't, but there was enough evidence from enough countries to make it a high probability and something that can not be ignored. There isn't much that is known for sure, and if you want to know 100% for sure, want to know the outcome before actions are taken, I suggest building a time machine, going to the future, seeing what happened, coming back to the past, and make choices from there. Remember, the flux capacitor is key to any time machine.
